Summer School 2024, University of Sussex
Once again we were generously hosted by Lesley Fallowfield and SHORE-C for two days of stimulating presentations and discussions on topics which ranged from digital consent and robots to does stress cause cancer.

Benefits and Risks of Breast Cancer Treatments: Patient Representation

2024 UK Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Symposium
On 22-23 Jan ICPV members and other patient advocates attended the UKIBCS
Our very own Lesley Stephen gave the opening address and others were involved in co-chairing plenary and parallel sessions. It was a truly interdisciplinary event.

Let's Talk About Sex
More is now known about the long-term effects of some breast cancer treatments. ICPV carried out a survey of patients and health professionals which clearly highlighted the issues

Breast Cancer Mortality
ICPV members Hilary Stobart and Mairead Mackenzie have been involved with Carolyn Taylor and the team at the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK for some time.
A key paper looking at breast cancer mortality has been published which shows that more than 90% of women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer will survive the disease for 5 years or more.
